With Omniplus On digital services, Daimler Buses offers its customers a wide range of connectivity solutions. There have always been several options for using digital services: conveniently in the Omniplus On portal or by integrating high-quality vehicle data into telemetry systems from telematics service providers and also through a broad portfolio of partner applications. Fifteen well-known European telematics and depot management system providers are already partners and offer their customers the Data-as-a-Service (DaaS) portfolio to integrate Daimler Buses’ vehicle data into fleet management systems and thus optimize fleet analysis and management. ChargePoint now joins this group as another major telematics provider.

Daimler Buses and ChargePoint: the benefits for customers
For ChargePoint customers who have Mercedes-Benz and Setra buses in their fleets, the new agreement offers several advantages: first, the time-consuming installation of additional hardware is no longer necessary because ChargePoint can use data from the Bus Data Center, which is a standard feature of all Daimler Buses. All that is needed is a monthly data package from Omniplus On, which can be purchased for each individual bus, and the release of the data by the transportation company.
Another advantage is, for example, that the Bus Data Center transmits more than 450 data points in real time and all vehicle diagnostic data. In addition, it can receive commands sent via the mobile network, for example for preconditioning the eCitaro, thus opening up additional options for the fleet management system.
