Maximilian Birle, Head of Telematics & Digital Services at Krone, adds: “Our goal is the seamlessly integrated trailer. With Platform Science, we are creating a solution that is ready for use immediately upon delivery and fully visible in the customer’s system – thus reducing the workload on IT departments and making our trailers significantly more valuable in digital terms.” Transport and logistics companies can choose from three service packages. A basic package offers GPS location and tracking (Track & Trace). The premium package also includes data from the electronic braking system (EBS), the tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) and the door sensors. The premium ‘Cool’ package additionally includes complete cold chain integration with temperature data and sensors.
Activation takes place automatically upon delivery of the semi-trailer. All data is transferred directly to the transport management system (TMS) and is visible in the Platform Science environment – without any further setup, approval or contract negotiations. Transport and logistics companies thus receive a solution that is ready for immediate use and have a single point of contact for any questions or concerns. As the telematics solution from Platform Science is manufacturer-independent and open, the application is also suitable for large fleets with mixed vehicles. Retrofitting older trailers and connecting solar units is also possible. Visitors to the transport logistic trade fair will have the opportunity to see the trailer telematics solution in action at live demonstrations at the Krone stand in Hall A6, Stand 201/302, and the Platform Science stand in Hall B1, Stand 101/202.
Both companies are aiming for long-term cooperation with a focus on comprehensive integration, fleet digitalization and easy scalability for international fleet operators.
