FUSO will be showcasing three Next Generation eCanters for different applications in Hall 5 (Stand 5-201): The FUSO Next Generation eCanter 9C18e with HIAB roll-off tipper, 3400 mm wheelbase and M-battery is versatile in horticulture and landscaping and an example of an ideal combination of body and chassis configuration. The stand also features a Next Generation eCanter 4S15e with Scattolini rear tipper, 2500 mm wheelbase and S-battery. The Next Generation eCanter 7C18e with three-way dumper made by Schutz Fahrzeugbau, 2800 mm wheelbase and S-battery will be presented to visitors for the first time at the trade fair. The all-electric light truck includes the new safety features announced in May this year. In this configuration, the eCanter Next Generation shows itself as an agile powerhouse: no other vehicle in the 7.49 t segment currently offers such a high chassis load capacity (3.8 t) in combination with such a short wheelbase and an associated particularly small turning circle.
FUSO will be presenting another electric vehicle as part of the E-Mobility Area outdoors. Here, visitors will have the opportunity to experience the eCanter Next Generation in action. You can see a Jotha skip loader on a Next Generation eCanter 6S15e with 2800mm wheelbase and S-battery.
The new Canter: now even more comfortable and safe
Since this summer, the FUSO Canter (6,0t, 7,5t, 8,55t) and eCanter Next Generation have been available with various standard updates. Among other things, the Canter and eCanter Next Generation are now equipped with the emergency braking assistant Active Brake Assist 6 (ABA6) with multi-lane monitoring, which can react to crossing, oncoming or walking pedestrians or cyclists in their own lane with a full brake application up to a speed of 60 km/h. The Emergency Brake Assist can react to stationary objects in front of the vehicle at all speeds with emergency braking to a standstill. The extended response to pedestrians and cyclists is already a preview of the new legislation, which will only become mandatory later.
The Blind Spot Information Assist exceeds the current legal requirements with a combination of four short- and long-range sensors. It not only monitors the front passenger side, but also the driver’s side. At speeds higher than 30 km/h, Sideguard Assist 2 also takes over the function of a lane change assistant: up to the permissible maximum speed, it informs the driver about an object on the driver’s or co-driver’s side.
