In a move to cement the company’s standing as one of Europe’s most innovative trailer manufacturers, SDC Trailers has announced it will be bringing a new curtain-sider model to Scandinavia.
To be shown at the Transport 2017 show in Denmark next month, the 13.7m tri-axle unit is certified to carry a 29-tonne payload, with the front wall retaining 50 per cent of the load, the sidewalls 40 per cent and the rear wall 30 per cent.
The ‘EN12642XL’ model reportedly features double full height metal rear doors with double locking bars and an alloy roof skin.
SDC COO, Enda Cushnahan said the company’s track record of innovation – last year, SDC launched the world’s first Kinetic Energy Recovery System (KERS) semi-trailer – was well placed to meet the needs of the Scandinavian transport sector.
“SDC has been supplying operators in Scandinavia over the last three decades, providing operators with high quality, robust and durable trailer solution,” he explained.
“Our ability to offer a completely bespoke product has given SDC an edge over other manufacturers, by giving users the opportunity to improve their operational efficiency and achieve a higher return on their investment.”
