The deal marks a significant milestone in the tender process, made possible by the collaborative efforts of Volvo Buses and its local business partner, Al-Futtaim Auto & Machinery Company (FAMCO). Alongside the delivery of buses, the contract also includes a comprehensive 10-year maintenance agreement and supports the long-term operational reliability of RTA’s expanding fleet.
Scheduled for delivery in 2026, the Volvo B13RLE 6×2 Euro 6 double-decker buses will be manufactured by renowned bodybuilder Gemilang Coachworks, specializing in aluminium structure. Each vehicle will feature the latest Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), incorporating advanced technologies such as real-time tracking, automated passenger information, traffic management integration, and predictive maintenance. Featuring an all-new exterior and interior design, the buses are built to improve the passenger experience, driver comfort, safety, and operational efficiency—reflecting Volvo Buses’ commitment to innovation and high quality.
