With this line-up the NACV aims to unite fleet operators of all types and sizes and acquaint them with the latest technology and trends. “North America is the world’s largest commercial vehicle market, with over 141 million vehicles on the continent’s roads. By further developing the NACV we want to adapt it more closely to market requirements and enhance the show’s important role in an international context,” says Stefan Handwerk, Project Manager Global Fairs, Deutsche Messe, Hannover. The NACV is staged every two years by Deutsche Messe Hannover together with its US subsidiary Hannover Fairs USA and Newcom Media USA.

A key priority is the automation, digitization and networking of vehicles on the road. Electromobility is a further hot topic. NACV 2019 will showcase the latest trends in automated trucks, driver assistance systems, integrated logistics and fleet management, as well as alternative drive solutions. These innovations will open up new opportunities for efficient, safe and climate-friendly mobility. They will also create the basis for zero-emission urban logistics over the “last mile”.

At the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta fleet operators and managers can meet all the major manufacturers and suppliers of trucks, trailers and related components at a single venue and lay the foundations for the coming business year. The exhibitor line-up includes Daimler, Volvo, Navistar, MACK, Bosch, Continental, Wabco, Great Dane, Meritor, Cummins and Hino Trucks. “The NACV Show is positioned right at the beginning of the buying season of the large fleets, so it’s a perfect chance for fleets to come and see what we’re showcasing, see what’s coming down the pile and as they settle in their financial plans for the following year, it gives us the chance to meet them here,” explained Roger Nielsen, President and CEO, Daimler Commercial Vehicles, speaking at NACV 2017.

The NACV premiere in 2017 attracted numerous leading fleet operators who were interested in discovering the latest technical trends and doing business with truck and trailer manufacturers. The list included PepsiCo, Walmart, FedEx Corp., JB Hunt, Roadrunner Express, Panera Bread, Brown Fleet Services, Max Trucking, Vaughan Express, Black Horse Carrier, Schneider, Ryder, Bison Transport. BR Williams Trucking, Scot Heller Trucking, McLeod, Praxair, Hampton Trucking, Liberty Logistics, Central Freight Lines, Ruan, Green Ranger Delivery Service, Cypress Truck Lines, Vanguard Trucks, R + L Carrier, HWC Logistics, JE Fortin, Hirschbach Motor Lines and Metro Trailer. The show also attracted fleet operators from outside North America – e.g. from Iceland, Jordan and Chile.

The NACV Show is based on a new concept which focuses on big B2B customers. The 2017 show brought together 439 exhibitors (30% from abroad) on a net exhibition space of 34,000 square metres and presented the latest trends in the commercial vehicle sector. The exhibit line-up embraces hybrid and electric vehicles, innovative trucks and trailers, sophisticated driver assistance systems, fuel-saving devices, safety systems, plus high-grade truck accessories.

In addition to the NACV, Deutsche Messe organizes further commercial vehicle shows such as the China Commercial Vehicles Show (CCVS) in Wuhan, China (1 to 4 November 2019) and Truck World in Toronto, Canada (16 to 18 April 2020). In addition, the IAA Commercial Vehicles show is held every two years at the Hannover Exhibition Center (September 20–27, 2018).
