The focus of the Krone presentation is the eTrailer. This revolutionary model was developed in close cooperation with technology innovator Trailer Dynamics. Equipped with a powerful electrified axle, the eTrailer stands out from the competition. The eAxle not only supports the drive of the tractor unit, but also recovers braking energy through recuperation. This enables the eTrailer to provide impressive drive assistance and thus reduce the consumption of the diesel truck on long journeys. In combination with a battery-electric tractor unit, the range of the entire system is doubled or even tripled.
One of the most significant features is its flexibility: the eTrailer can be combined with any conventional truck. Fleet operators can thus benefit directly from the technology and realise a significant CO2 reduction in their operations. This ecological advantage is further enhanced by the integrated digital technology of the intelligent control system as well as the functionally safe processes in the eTrailer’s driveline.
