Volvo Bus UK & Ireland has completed the delivery of 72 Volvo BZL electric buses to Arriva UK Bus’s Tottenham depot, with the vehicles entering service across North London. Arriva UK Bus has received the final batch of 72 Volvo BZL Electric buses for its Tottenham depot in London, according to a post published by Volvo Bus UK & Ireland. The vehicles are entering passenger service across North London and form part of Arriva’s £340 million investment programme for its UK bus fleet.
According to Volvo Bus UK & Ireland, completion of the delivery marks a further stage in Arriva’s nationwide fleet renewal programme. The operator is also continuing to add Volvo vehicles outside London, with further deliveries already scheduled for later in 2026.
72 Volvo BZL buses for Arriva
The 72 Volvo BZL Electric buses have been delivered to Arriva’s Tottenham depot and are now entering operation on routes in North London, Volvo Bus UK & Ireland states.
The Volvo BZL Electric is the battery-electric model selected for this phase of Arriva’s fleet programme. In its post announcing completion of the delivery, Volvo Bus UK & Ireland highlighted the operator’s experience with Volvo vehicles in both urban and rural services.
More Volvo buses due
Arriva’s Volvo fleet programme also includes 63 Volvo B8RLE buses with MCV eVoRa bodywork currently on order. These vehicles are scheduled for delivery in the fourth quarter of 2026 and will be allocated to Bangor, Luton, Luton Airport and Teesside.
The latest order follows the delivery of more than 50 units in 2025, according to Volvo Bus UK & Ireland. Volvo also points to its UK dealer network as part of its support structure for Arriva’s fleet. The network comprises more than 80 locations providing technical and aftersales services for vehicles operating across the country.
