At the end of this year’s truck racing season, the tankpool24 racing team really stepped on the gas in Spanish Jarama: After the last weekend of the season, the team around the drivers Norbert Kiss and Steffen Faas could celebrate the fifth place in the team ranking. “The entire team worked very hard throughout the season! I would like to thank my team and our sponsors for the exciting season and look forward to the next season,” says team boss Markus Bauer.
A total of 27,000 spectators came to the season finale at the Circuito del Jarama near the Spanish capital Madrid and were able to witness a weekend full of exciting races. Steffen Faas in particular, who made his truck racing debut this year, was able to further strengthen his position in the Grammer’s Truck Cup standings and can look forward to second place in this standings after the last race weekend. “This first racing season was a huge success for me – it was spectacular, action-packed and exciting. I could learn a lot and got to know a lot of new tracks. Especially at the end of the season I noticed that I was getting better and better and I was able to improve my performance more and more. I’m very proud of second place in the Grammer’s Cup – especially because it was my first season”, explains the driver.
His team-mate Norbert Kiss ends the season with a fifth place in the drivers’ standings. Especially in the last race on Sunday – after having to park his vehicle on the track in the first three races of the weekend due to an accident and technical problems – he was able to put his foot down again: From the last starting position he fought his way forward lap by lap and was able to score important points for the overall standings with 7th place. “Especially in the first half of the season we showed a strong performance: A great weekend in Slovakia, numerous podium places and a great performance on the track in general”, Kiss sums up the season 2018.
For the fifth year in a row, the tankpool24 racing team is supported by the Hamburg based spare parts manufacturer MEYLE with high-quality MEYLE parts and technical know-how as part of a technical cooperation. The 1,050 hp racing trucks used by the team were fitted with MEYLE ORIGINAL engine mounts, speed sensors, brake components and coupling amplifiers.
