Stating that the Autonomous e-ATAK has achieved the firsts in the public transport sector, Karsan CEO Okan Baş said, “The Autonomous e-ATAK we developed with our high-tech innovative production capability, was recently awarded as the most popular model in the Digital Enhanced Driving category at the Busworld Digital Awards. Germans have appreciated the design of our vehicle, too. We are also proud to have received the ‘Excellent Product Design‘ award from the German Design Council, a founding member of the World Design Organization. Global awards like this encourage us to do better.”
The world’s first serial-produced Level 4 automated bus
Underlining that the Karsan Autonomous e-ATAK is the world’s first serial-produced Level 4 automated bus, Okan Baş said, “Our vehicle, which we developed with our business partner ADASTEC, has continuously carried passengers in Stavanger, Norway since 2022. Providing service as a vehicle suitable for public transport with its all security features, Autonomous e-ATAK positions us in front of our competitors. So far, we have carried over 20 thousand passengers with the Autonomous e-ATAK. We have achieved 50 thousand kilometers of autonomous driving experience in 1.5 years by launching six different autonomous projects in the United States, Norway, France, Romania, and Turkey. This experience and knowledge will propel us to the next level in the autonomous vehicle market.”
