The southern Italian bus company MarinoBus and Bonn-based UBS Univers Busservice GmbH are adding new Setra double-decker buses to their fleets.The interiors of MarinoBus's 20 new Setra double-decker buses are fitted with LED lighting and offer different equipment variants on the lower deck – flexibly adapted to touring or regular service. Among other things, the vehicles are equipped with Side Guard Assist, the right-turn assistance system, and Attention Assist technology, which detects the onset of driver fatigue.

The 12.8-litre engine of the OM 471 model series with an output of 375 kW (510 hp) is coupled to the fully automated GO 250–8 MPS 8-speed manual transmission. The buses, which brandish the red woodpecker company logo, each have 78 seats on board. The family-owned business was established by Michele Marino in 1957 and is now managed by Gerardo Marino. In 2015 the company from Apulia took delivery of the 2,500th double-decker bus made by Setra.

Univers Deepens Setra Partnership

With two new Setra double-decker buses, UBS Univers Busservice GmbH is strengthening its more than 70-year association with the Setra brand. The Bonn-based company has added two S 531 DTs to its fleet.

The new-generation double-decker buses are equipped with 68 passenger seats. The glass-roofed three-axle vehicles also have a galley with a coffee machine and refrigerator on board. On the lower deck, passengers can sit comfortably at two club tables, while entertainment and information about the journey can be viewed on the five LCD video monitors.

The two S 531 DTs have the OM 471 six-cylinder in-line engine with 375 kW (510 hp) under their bonnet, which is coupled to the GO 250–8 MPS automated 8-speed manual transmission. In addition to the two double-decker buses, the company, which has been a partner of the Setra brand since 1952, has acquired an S 516 HDH from the new TopClass generation.
