Volkswagen ID. Buzz electric van equipped with Continental EcoContact 6 Q tires
The newly-introduced Volkswagen “Bulli” ID. Buzz electric van will be equipped with Continental EcoContact 6 Q tires in 19′′ and 20′′. According to Continental, the EcoContact 6 Q offers “outstanding energy efficiency, service life, brake performance and handling”. The tread profile constantly adapts to the road surface, ensuring a longer tire life. The specially developed rubber compound minimizes friction when the tire is in contact with the road surface, which means that the tire dissipates less energy and, in turn, rolling resistance is reduced. Thanks to modified blocks, sipes and lateral grooves, the tire is also noise-optimized.
Continental EcoContact 6 Q tires
The EcoContact 6 Q for the ID. Buzz also comes with ContiSeal technology, which enables journeys to be continued safely even if tires are damaged. A highly elastic protective layer on the inside of the tire closes in around penetrating objects in just a fraction of a second and reliably seals the puncture even when the object has been removed from the tread (e.g. through the rotation of the tire). Thanks to this technology, holes with diameters of up to five millimeters can be sealed securely, in turn allowing around 80 percent of punctures to be fixed immediately. Thanks to this technology no spare tire is needed, which saves additional weight and, in turn, can help to increase range.
